Old Oakhamian Stories

After spending the last 20 years as a fashion designer in London, Elizabeth Hiscox (nee Stott ’05) has recently returned to her roots in equestrianism. It’s been a long time since she last rode a horse, having competed for Oakham in the school equestrian teams, and she’s decided to take on a new challenge: flat race riding!

Elizabeth is thrilled to announce that she has been selected to participate in the Markel Magnolia Cup a 5 1/2-furlong elite all-female flat race at the prestigious Glorious Goodwood on July 31st 2025.There will be 10,000 people watching, and she’s been training for 10 months burning 4,000 calories day.

This charity race supports The King's Trust, specifically Project Lehar, which funds female-led initiatives.

For further information please visit Elizabeth's Just Giving Page

Congratulations and all the very best with your race today Elizabeth!!
