Oakham School recently welcomed back former pupil Olivia Stables (’13) to give a talk to Form 7 BTEC Business students about implementing a marketing campaign.
The pupils, who are currently studying Marketing in their Business course, were given an insight into how they can get into the industry, as well as learning more about how a marketing campaign works.
Olivia, who studied French and History at university, started working for the Volkswagen group as part of a graduate scheme, rotating through various departments before becoming Communications Manager for Skoda. Sharing her experiences from working with Volkswagen for the last four years, she discussed the various factors that need to be considered when launching a car and the planning that goes into a marketing and communications campaign.
Olivia took the Business pupils through the marketing campaign she used to launch the Skoda Enyaq, the different ways channels are used to promote the car to the public, how to put together a compelling advert and to relate to those they want to.
Head of Business at Oakham School, Sarah Donlevy, said: “We are so grateful to Olivia for giving up her time to come in and share her experiences with our Form 7 BTEC students. I know that they will take away so much to apply in their revision and preparation for their Unit 2 Developing a Marketing Campaign examination in January.”
We love to welcome back OOs, if you would like to come back to give a talk to pupils, please email the OOClub@oakham.rutland.sch.uk
