OO Events & Reunions |
On Saturday, 26 October, the Class of 1999 was welcomed back to Oakham to celebrate 25 Years since they left.
The day started with an opportunity for OOs to see how the campus has changed over the last 25 years, including a new cricket pavilion, a Design and Technology building, an extension to Round House, a new Hockey Astroturf, and a new science facility. It was wonderful to hear their stories from their time at Oakham.
The evening kicked off with a pre-drinks reception, where the Class of 1999 had the opportunity to catch up with their former teachers, housemasters, and tutors while looking through old red books, magazines, photos, and sports tour brochures.
Attendees once again enjoyed a Barraclough dinner in the newly refurbished Small Barraclough, having the opportunity to catch up with each other about life since leaving Oakham School. Jono Wills, who looked after many attendees in Jerwood’s before moving to Haywood’s to become Housemaster, made a toast and thanked David McKee for making the reunion happen. David thanked attendees for making the evening so special and memorable.
Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely, with many expressing their shared love of Oakham School and wanting to continue these reunions.
The evening ended with group photos before heading off into Oakham to revisit old haunts.
Thank you to all those who attended! The OO Club hopes to see you at another event soon.
