Celebrating 30 Years of the Class of 1994

It was wonderful to welcome back the Class of 1994 on Saturday 23 November, for their 30 Year Reunion!

24 OOs started the day with a tour around the campus, having the opportunity to see how much the school site has changed since they left. The general consensus was that so much has changed but also stayed the same! We were also joined by two current Oakhamians who had the pleasure of showing their mother (a 1994 leaver) where their lessons take place while also answering multiple questions about what lessons are like today.

The tour ended in BAF Smith Pavilion, where everyone was welcomed with mince pies, prosecco (kindly given by Simon Greenwood (’94)), and cake!

The evening started with a pre-drinks reception in the small Barraclough, where 60 gathered to start celebrations. We were also joined by former staff members Richard Davies, John Darrall, John Butcher, Dave Smith, and an appearance from Jim O’Kane.

Henry Price, Oakham School's current Headmaster, welcomed everyone back to Oakham and thanked them for their advocacy of Oakham School.

Katherine Hodge (’94), who made the day and evening possible, thanked everyone for coming back. Especially those who had travelled from afar, Anna Watts (Davies) from India, Fiona Goodwillie from Seattle, Rob O’Brien and Anna Kotzeva from Holland, and finally, Ken Soon Tan from Australia!

Thank you to everyone who made the evening possible. It was a pleasure to meet you all! The evening would not have been possible without Katherine Hodge's (’94) support and work. The OO Club and the Class of 1994 are so grateful for her support.
