| OO Events & Reunions |
On Wednesday 12 November, OOs came together for an inspiring Finance Networking Evening in the heart of London. The event was hosted at the law offices of Simmons and Simmons, thanks to the generosity of Angus Maclean (’94), and we are deeply grateful for their hospitality.
The evening brought together alumni working across the financial sector, and those wishing to find out if this was a path they wanted to pursue, creating a vibrant space for connection, collaboration, and career development. Attendees had the privilege of hearing from David Burlison, who, with over 25 years of experience, both in the UK and overseas, joined with Tom Wheeler (’00), also with extensive banking, AI and digital and international experience, to share candid insights into their professional journeys. Their stories highlighted the diverse paths within finance and offered practical advice on how to take ownership of your career and shape it with confidence.
From strategies for navigating early challenges to tips on building a strong professional network, the speakers provided invaluable guidance that resonated with both seasoned professionals and those just starting out. The atmosphere was one of openness and support, reinforcing the strength of the OO community.
Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this event such a success, particularly our excellent key-note speakers David and Tom. We look forward to many more opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together.
