As part of our new Torch lecture series for current Oakhamians, Tim Weston, our Head of Design and Technology, welcomed back Charlie Brundle to talk about her career in the automotive design industry.

Charlie took pupils through the design process of the Solus GT, discussing the interior and exterior designs and the bespoke nature of this current track car.

‘It was great to welcome Charlie back to Oakham and for her to give an insightful talk regarding her own career in the automotive industry, which includes work at JLR, Aston Martin, and McLaren,’ said Tim Weston. ‘At McLaren, she discussed her work on the new Solus GT project, which was inspired by a design originally put forward for the Gran Tourism game.’

Charlie is also featured in our upcoming OO Magazine, where we discuss all the pathways of STEM and her current project in further detail.
