Sporting Futures - Thursday 9 October 2025

A huge thank you to all our guests who attended Sporting Futures at Oakham School last week. It was brilliant to hear from our keynote speakers Yasmina Eissa, Ashley Light, Matthew Ramshaw ('18) and Jack van Poortvliet ('19) - all giving wonderful insight into their unique sporting stories.

Our clear objectives for the night:
Inspire - motivation for the road ahead
Inform - to share knowledge, experience and insight
Arm - to give tools to help attack whatever comes your way as athletes and parents

Key messages:
Your Journey is Unique
It will be Hard Work
There will be bumps in the road (...and that's OK)
Play the long game
Education, education, education

And if that wasn't good enough - we then had an hour and a half of fab food, conversations and networking with 36 amazing guests from the sports industry, including athletes and coaches, event management, physiotherapy, sports psychology, journalism, plus 7 UK universities, and agents for sports scholarships in the USA, Australia and the world!
