Oakham School are the Under 18 Schools Cup National Champions!

Oakham beat the defending champions, Trinity School, in a tightly fought contest, emerging 31-24 victors.

The Oakham set piece was dominant all day, scoring all 5 of their tries off the back of their lineout supremacy. Trinity took an early two try lead, but Oakham settled themselves and eventually asserted themselves in the game. After scoring a try on the stroke of half-time to cut the lead to 19-10, Oakham surged out of the blocks in the second half, scoring 3 unanswered tries and two late penalties to put the game out of reach, before holding off a late surge from Trinity.

The victory in the final caps off an incredible season for the First XV, who went unbeaten all year, and winning all but one of their matches – at draw at Stamford.
