Starting in the opener against Scotland, Sam took part in all but one match after he sustained a neck injury in the Scotland opener, a very close game where Wales were beaten 27-26.
Missing the England game at Twickenham, Sam returned to the Wales starting lineup as the lone change in the team to face Ireland in the third round of the Six Nations.
In the fourth round, Wales faced a powerful French side, with Sam getting himself on the scoreboard with nine points from three successful conversions and an early penalty.
From the start of the 2023 Six Nations, Sam has collected a total of 35 points, including being integral in Wales winning their Pool in the Rugby World Cup in October; Sam has an exciting future ahead of him.
